Principal’s Desk Oct. 1

Thank you to PTG Board members Angela Bottini, Stephanie Taft, and the fabulous volunteers who organized Movie Night! What a beautiful evening on the field it was, as families enjoyed, Ralph Breaks the Internet.

This week, student-led prayer by members of each class celebrating their Saint Feast Day, unite us as a faith community. Today, Grade 5 led prayer for the Feast of St. Therese. All OLG faithful families are invited to extend our school prayer time into your family time. It’s as easy as talking to your children about the saints, asking about prayers said in school today, or silently offering a special intention. October is the perfect month, as daylight gradually declines, to add prayer, reflection, and quiet into before or after school routines.

Are your children passionate about science? OLG is excited to have Mrs. Buck as our new Science Coordinator this year. She is launching our first, Science Mornings Club, this week, for Grades 1-5! See the flyer in your envelope for registration details.

Can you believe that Student-led Parent Teacher Conferences are only one month away? Look for the sign-up link to arrive within one week. The purpose of including students in their parent-teacher conference is to empower them through participation with ownership of their education. By adding their voice to the conversation, we build confidence and pride in learning, resulting in positive progress and higher achievement. All students, in TK-Grade 8 are expected to attend the conference with parents. Students in Grades 6-8 will meet with all subject area teachers together in one joint conference. Details to follow.

Have a joyful week. God bless,

Mrs. Egan
