SLE Mastery Presentations

Progress toward the mastery of our Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLEs) is required to be measured each year. Students in kindergarten through 3rd grade describe their progress in word and picture. The fourth through eighth graders take a survey at the beginning and end of each year during which they rate their progress with certain behaviors which reflect the SLEs. The eighth graders prepare oral presentations which demonstrate their progress in achievement throughout their education.

Our eighth graders are usually quite impressive, providing wonderful testimony of the value of their education here at OLG and their accomplishments in the community also. Students articulate their growth and the people and circumstances that led to that growth and provide specific pieces of evidence. A good deal of energy in this process comes from the panelists who attend these presentations and question and affirm these young people on their way to high school.
